Inspirations from the Balkans, the SublimeFlow dress and photography that lives.
Sharing the story of Teo.
Today I interviewed an aspiring artist, designer and photographer - Teodora Bojović, who is also my dear friend. What makes her art special is how she combines "the static and the dynamic" to create unique results.
Photography is static and usually represents that moment frozen in time, but I want to give it a past and a future. Something existed before that moment, and something will come after. I want my photographs to move and have a narrative. Sometimes I give hints about the direction that narrative is going, but I leave it to the viewer to decide what they will do with it. - Teo
Static photography captures subjects that are still or motionless, often with the aim of showcasing fine details, texture, and composition without the distraction of movement. It’s a style of photography commonly used in genres like product, still life, landscape, and architectural photography, where the focus is on form, structure, lighting, and composition rather than action or movement.
I don't attach much importance to staged and perfect moments, but rather to what lies behind
them: the preparations and everything that leads up to that perfect moment — "the perfect photograph." - Teo
In static photography, photographers often use techniques like controlled lighting, careful composition, and specific focal lengths to create clarity and bring out the subject’s essence. The intention is to allow the viewer to focus fully on the subject itself, encouraging a slower, more contemplative viewing experience.
As she explains herself, she has always had artistic spirit:
As a little girl, I would spend hours studying different designers, going through every page of a fashion magazine, and being astonished by the artistic expression in fashion.
Being surrounded by different media of art helped me define my taste and style. Fashion has let me intersect art and movement at the same time and I want to transfer that to my photos. Fortunately, I had the opportunity in my senior year of university to design for ladies with disabilities. That was a one a kind experience, astonishing in every sense. - Teo
Originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Teodora proudly represents her country also internationally.
I have a degree in Fashion engineering and design. In 2022 I received a gold plaque for innovation at the international exhibition of Innovations, ideas, and Creations "INOST MLADIH" for my design under the name of SublimeFlow dress. I've been a part of more than 10 collective exhibitions and now I am preparing my second solo exhibition. - Teo
